LESSON 5

People with a seeing disability use Braille when they read and write. Braille is a special form of language. In Braille, the raised dots express letters and numbers. Today, Braille is used in many public places such as railway stations, hospitals, and city halls.

Innovative designer Takahashi Kosuke saw Braille one day. A question came into his mind: “Why can’t I read Braille?”

Then Takahashi said to himself: “It must be interesting if everyone can read Braille. But how? Maybe I can change Braille into something new.” He started to create a new type of letters for both non-sighted and sighted people.
